ASML reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of €11.7 billion, a gross margin of 57.5%, and net income of approximately €5 billion.
The company increased its full-year revenue outlook to €44–45 billion.
CEO Christophe Fouquet stated that some customers are already expressing interest in equipment orders for 2029 and 2030.
More importantly, ASML now expects its currently planned production capacity for 2027 and 2028 to be insufficient to satisfy customer demand and is examining additional expansion beyond previously communicated capacity increases. ASML Investor Relations

Why it matters strategically
The announcement provides new evidence of a capacity constraint upstream in the AI infrastructure value chain.
Even if cloud providers design their own accelerators, manufacturing remains dependent on advanced semiconductor production equipment.
That creates a structural limitation.
A company can have sufficient financing, chip designs, and customer demand but still face delays because manufacturing equipment cannot be delivered or installed quickly enough.
ASML's outlook is particularly important because equipment orders extend years into the future.
However, expressions of interest for 2029–2030 are not equivalent to binding orders.
