Tiziana's Foralumab Shows a Phase IIa Neuroinflammation Signal, but Clinical Translation Remains Unproven

Tiziana Life Sciences announced a November 9 investor discussion of topline Phase IIa INFORM-MS results for intranasal foralumab in non-active secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. The company reported that the 50 μg dose met the primary TSPO-PET imaging endpoint for reduced microglial activation versus placebo (p=0.0168), with 48 participants completing the 12-week treatment period. Exploratory fatigue measures improved in both active-dose groups, although the study was not powered to establish those clinical outcomes. The company plans further analysis and FDA discussions; no pivotal trial authorization or demonstrated disability-progression benefit was announced.

Why it matters strategically

Non-active secondary progressive multiple sclerosis remains a difficult therapeutic-development area.

A statistically significant imaging biomarker signal could support continued investigation, but a biomarker response is not necessarily equivalent to meaningful clinical improvement.

The investment decision depends on whether the observed biological effect can be translated into an approvable clinical endpoint.
